In compliance with current regulations, and specifically Circular N°660 of the Superintendence of Securities and Insurance, I inform you of the material fact that at an ordinary Board of Director's meeting held January 31st of the current year, the Board of Lan Airlines S.A. authorized the distribution of an interim dividend of US$0.10975 per share out of profits for the 2005 fiscal year, which will be paid beginning on March 1, 2006 to all registered shareholders on the fifth business day before the aforementioned date.
