In compliance with current regulations, and specifically Circular N°660 of the Superintendence of Securities and Insurance, I inform you that at Extraordinary Board of Directors’ Meeting Number 71 held on August 4 of the current year, the Board of Lan Chile S.A. authorized the distribution of an interim dividend of U.S. $0.12475 per share out of profits for the 2004 fiscal year, which will be paid beginning on August 30, 2004 to those who are shareholders on the fifth business day before the aforementioned date.
